Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Oakley is short, barely reaching 5'1". When able to assume her true, human-sized drider form she extends a bit, reaching to about 7' from head to her rear.

2. How old is she?
~19.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
Oakley tends to stand straight... or at least try to around strangers or overly formal people.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Oakley used to be slightly out of shape given that she used to live in a place where she needed to be seen and not heard, but she is now in very good shape.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Oakley is very tense, but there is also a grace to her movements. Her movements will look less spidery in human form once calm.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
Oakley does have sex appeal, but she doesn't think about it very often, given that aside from curvy chest, most people's first opinion of her is 'cute and frail'. If warmed up to someone, she will exploit whatever draws her partner's eyes, however.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Pale. She does tan well, however.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Blonde, frilly, and short.

9. What color are her eyes?
Turquoise... or 'green-ish' will do. Of note, those who stare close enough might find too many pupils...

Her index and middle fingers are sharp, even when entirely human. Her true drider form has a dark brown spider half, with a pale tattoo that resembles a monster forming a bow and arrow.

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Her sides and behind her ears. In her true form, also on her spinnerettes.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?

She prefers casual dresses and skirts given her transforming nature and feels anxious if in anything frilly.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
They tend to fit her well. She prefers looser items, and will be embarrassed in tighter fitting things but won't run for anything that fits except super reserved clothes.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
Job? What's that? She is eyeing some part time work with magic...

Panties, but may go commando if planning to transform...


Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Surprisingly low. Not very deep given her stature, though.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
Somewhat softly, it gets louder when she is particularly angry, excited, or aggressive in general.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She doesn't have any particular accents.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
She speaks just her homeland's common language, which is essentially English.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
No language switch, but she might use a bit more drawl if feeling groggy or impish enough.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
Her impromptu sentences are short and clipped. Given preparation she won't shy away from longer sentences though.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
She tends to speak casually, usually in as few syllables as possible. She won't shy away from big words (or other languages if using spells) if they save her a syllable in conveying what she wants. She might forget this in the heat of the moment though and stutter if cornered.



Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
Average intelligence, with slightly more focus on street smarts given that she fled her human parents

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
She thinks on her feet. Planning ahead is not a strength of hers.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive and practical. If it makes sense at the time she'll go with it. Thinking to her ideals takes more time, and may frustrate her.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
She had the equivalent of a ninth grade education before running away from her parents. She hasn't forsaken education entirely; she's currently learning magic under Shouko.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
She has a fascination with spirits and lore, to the point that her curiosity will drive her to investigate anything to do with them. She's interested in learning more about the magic from her world.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
Mostly introverted, due to shyness.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Oakley tends to be somewhat driven, quick to anger but usually not one to lash out. She prefers working out her anger to accomplish something rather than being destructive, but enough badgering might get her to lash out.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Oakley can be curious yet timid, so often she treats new things with a healthy suspicion.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React, though given her sharp reflexes it may sometimes look like acting.

Depends on the situation. When angered enough (or its a necessity), she'll fight. Otherwise she'll flee.

Oakley's sense of humor is probably morbid. Dire situations (and probably things like Murphy's Law) strike her as funny at times.

None that she nor her guardian(s) know about.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Oakley's defining moment was first meeting Shouko. She had heard of driders and arachne (distinct species in her world), but meeting Shouko had shown her that her odd, spider like habits had a reason, and she wasn't just a weird, ostracized little girl.

While she no longer dislikes her human self, she dreads being unable to ever change into her true form.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
At some point, she wants to freely live as a drider, preferably without needing to hate humans... or fairies, as Shouko does.

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
That she has less control over her transformations than someone expects.


Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
Her real parents have disappeared, presumably dead. She was adopted by human parents, who essentially wanted her to be their 'seen-and-not-heard' child.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
She was an only child, even as living under adopted parents.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
No.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Shouko is both her current guardian and more like a parent to her despite said woman's protests on the matter, though their relationship could be more accurately described as 'older and younger sibling'.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
She doesn't really have close friends... but she's working on it. Her general unhappiness from her adopted parents had made her feel disconnected from the people she met before.

6. Does she have other close friends?
No.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
She struggles to get along with people on her own, but calmer people can usually reach out to her.

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
Family, though at the moment only Shouko fits this trend.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

She at first admired Shouko that way, but the Westermarck effect eventually does its job.

Generally someone who is patient with her, for all of her blessings and faults.

Nope.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
She eyes the church of her world, Melio Ecclesia, with suspicion, but doesn't particularly hate them as much as she dislikes fanatical, anti-humanoid factions.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Sits close to a 3, she would not be picky about a partner if she came to care enough.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
It's a curiosity to her, she'd enjoy it given enough time to warm up to it but it's not a top priority.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
She needs to be warmed up, so someone immediately coming onto her would make her panic. Interestingly enough the more foreplay is involved, the more submissive she may get.

Somewhat spiritual but not religious; she doesn't discount people's beliefs but generally prefers to be open given that a lot of different mythologies exist in her world.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
She values being true to herself and her own survival, given if these conflict she'll pick her survival (and grow more bitter) every time, but she will work a way back down to those beliefs.

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She may come of curious to other beliefs minus those that seem to imprison their believers from her point of view. She won't challenge them unless they challenge her, but she will bite back if it comes to that.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
She tends to be very fearful of humans that appear to be 'too' perfect, since it was an ideal she was locked into as a child. She doesn't want to hate humans as a whole, though.


Daily Life

She is comfortable as long as she is not in debt.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
She was once adopted by a well-to-do family, but she never cared for their extras and thus Shouko's more modest belongings never bothered her.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
She lives with Shouko, who tends to either occupy small houses or caves well furnished with her webbing. She is not obsessively clean or dirty, sliding to the latter will get her angry enough to clean, but won't put much effort if others do a better job.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Books, aids to her magic, and sometimes clothes.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
She apprentices as a mage, the equivalent of home schooling from Shouko. She's much better at quick magic than anything that requires any sort of casting time. She's much happier now than she has been.

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
She often likes exploring new places, using her agility to scale places regular humans--or even driders--don't dare tread on their own.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Oakley tends to eat whenever she feels hungry and not a moment sooner, she'll as soon as sate her appetite with a light snack as a full course meal, meaning she could eat 2 to 5 meals a day depending on what activities she does.
